Olympus Pen EPL-8 | First impression review

Hey Travellover, is time to share my experience using the Olympus Pen EPL-8, a mirrorless camera.

Let see the body part of the camera!

It has a simple and refined design. And it has 3 colour which is white, black and brown. From the front part, you can see the lens is changeable. The display mirror is flips 90 degree downwards which is quite different with other cameras that I use before.

Selfie Mode 【with additional beauty mode】

Built-in Collage Mode:
You can take photos using the different type of collages. If you do not satisfy the photo you have taken, you may delete it too and retake again.

Art Mode:

The next things i love is the interchangeable lenses feature. You can simply change the lens to achieve even more beautiful DSLR-quality bokeh.

Nowadays people concern about camera whether allow instant transfer of photos or video from the camera to mobile phone. No doubt this camera has this function too called Smartphone Linkage. So when you are travelling, this feature enables you to upload photos to your social media instantly. The only thing you need is to download the Olympus Image Share APP on your Android or IOS phone. This app not only allows you to transfer photos but also edit photos, have a live view control and also adding location to your photos.

Overall thoughts:

I think this camera is quite convenient for those who like to travel as it has a lot of built-in feature and lightweight as well. You can change the mode instantly when you are in the different environment. The only thing i do not like is the display mirror is flipped downwards. Is a kinda fuzzy if you want to do vlog as the tripod stand will block the screen. But I have found out a YouTuber has a solution for this whereby there is an accessory, Dual Flash Bracket Holder for 1/4" Screw Tripod Light Stand DSLR Camera can solve this problem. When you flipped the mirror downwards, you can see the screen clearly using this bracket holder. If you plan to do a vlog, this accessory might help you.

I like the touchscreen mode of the mirror display, you can get the focus of the object easily by touching the screen. When hangout with friends, this could be the best mode you can use. Lastly, the video that i took from this camera is damn good because it will look like a movie. I was really impressed with this feature. P/S : As a first timer, I really satisfied with the photos taken using manual mode, and I would say it is quite easy to play with manual mode.
