Hi Travellover, last month my girlfriends Sharon, Carinn & Nicole (#CMNSreunited) from South come and visit me. And I tried to book a cosy accommodation at Penang Island which near to the local food stalls. The best area to stay is at Georgetown, as you are easier to get to access to those heritage area, local food stalls, street art and historical landmark.

I had booked the Eastern Hotel at Lebuh Chulia. The boutique hotel was just operated months ago and it’s design has influenced by the old penang style. This hotel was located at the vibrant street with a lot of convenient store, café and night bar. It has a little car park for hotel guests who are self-driving.

Even their bed frame has the switch

We book 2 room as the family suite for 4 is already fully booked. Our room are standard and deluxe room. The main difference is the Deluxe room is slightly bigger and there is a fridge and safety box. The friendly concierge receptionist led us to our room and told us how to use some of the amenities.

The room was well equipped with the essential amenities. The door was designed like the old Chinese door during my grandma era. Sharon and I had stayed in the deluxe room. There was a 2 free drinking water provided during the stay with some instant coffee as well. The bed was very comfortable as we sleep soundly all the night without any noise disturbing us. The toilet was quite clean and equipped with basic toiletries (tissue and 3-in-1 shampoo).

Outside the room, there is an empty area for their garden café. It will be operated on October. Can’t wait to see how its look like. We taking some instagrammable photos at their hotel. At nights it has a different view as it was decorated with all the lights bulbs. Not forget to mentioned that there was water filter and iron with iron board nearby the staircase. It was free for all the hotel guests.

Overall, I had a cosy stay for 2 nights. Some of the hawker stalls was a stone’s thrown away from the hotel. It is suitable for those looking affordable stay, backpackers or couple. We had tried asam laksa and penang famous cendol which located nearby our hotel. The breakfast spot - Toh Soon Cafe just 3-min walking distance from our hotel too.
