[TravelFoodie] The Glasshouse | The Prestige Hotel Penang

by - September 17, 2019

There are more and more café in Penang years by years. And this time I gonna share this café to you – The Glasshouse at The Prestige Hotel. For your information, Prestige Hotel just opened in this year and having the white and gold combination theme architecture has attracted a lot of local and tourists to pay a visit.
Just right beside their entrance hall is their in-house café > The Glasshouse. The Glasshouse has offered a semi buffet lunch at their glasshouse. This time we having all their best seller ala carte main courses with the dessert buffet. Let me show you their café's interior. With English influenced design and green white rattan furniture in their main dining hall, another side was furnished with dark green sofa and wooden chair with an open balcony. **Instagrammble corner**

The first dish will be the Nyonya Ulam Rice. A typical food that represent the signature Malaysian delicacies. The dish have fried rice , roasted chicken with spices, salted egg, poppadum, cucumber, eggplant, enchovy crumb and chilli shrimp paste. The combination was looks nice and meet the local taste.
The chilli shrimp paste is the key things of the dish. It taste a little spicy and salty. Mixing it with all the side dish was superb. I think this is the most favourite dish in their menu.
RM22
The next one is their Smoked Duck Carbonara. The special thing have to mention is they use egg yolk instead of cream. For those who not fond of cheesy feel like me, you can try this as it taste not bad with the smoked duck. On top of the noodle, they had sprinkled some parmesan cheese on it. It is still acceptable for me who don’t like cheese.
RM28
These few years Malaysia was influenced by Korean cuisine especially the famous fried chicken. And Glasshouse has offered the Crispy Chicken Gochujang. I had ordered this to cure my craving. The taste was still ok but still can’t meet the taste I had in Korea as their use chicken breast instead of drumstick or wings.  They had slight changed the ingredient of the dish and the portion was quite small.
RM28
We had ordered the Truffle Fries as well.  The fries was damn big but the sauce not really strong enough. This is my first time eating truffle fries and it was not beyond my expectation.
RM15
The drinks that we ordered is the TWG Earl Grey Tea (RM8) , Hot Belgium Dark Chocolate (RM10) and Pink Guava Juice (RM7). Guess which is mine?  XDDD
While our dessert was the Strawberry Waffle. The waffle was taste fluffy, buttery interiors and crispy, crunchy exteriors. The waffle with Vanilla ice-cream combination was really nice. Remember to share with your friends as its' portion quite big.Can be shared among 2-3 people.
RM15
There was a buffet corner for guest who getting the semi buffet course which means you can order a main course and get to enjoy unlimted buffet that serve at the corner. There are some desserts, salad bar, fruits and soup as well.
THE MENU
Overall, I think that this café suit for friends gathering or dating. Have a chit chat and enjoy the food. The price is slightly higher but almost the same with all the café in Penang.
