After a long time, I want to share about food I had in Hatyai. As you guys know, i have been to Hatyai uncountable times but keep going same place only. And this time i'm focus on food in Hatyai ;) Thanks to Thailand Tourism Malaysia invitation as i get to try more authentic thai food in Sadao and Hatyai. And the trip's purpose is to attend the Food Paradise Hatyai at Lee Garden Plaza.
So after we have cross the Bukit Kayu Hitam Border, the first stop is a typical Thai local restaurant in Sadao Area before passing the Sadao Lotus Supermarket. Don't worry if you are self-drive to Hatyai as they have a big parking area.

Cook Chai Dimsum is operated by the local Thai Owner. This shop is located at the heart of Hatyai which need only 8 min drive from Lee Garden Hotel. They serve not only dimsum but also other signature dishes like Bak Kut Teh, Chicken Noodle, Special Kuey Teow with braised fish head.
The ambience was really like a Chinese restaurant whereby you can see alot of people gathering and have breakie together. The environment was very lively ! Location is 10 min drive from Lee Garden Plaza and located along the road.

They are famous in their kheng som dish and they are selling in vacuum packaging. We get a chance to see the owner to show us how to cook the kheng som by using their kheng som instant packet. If you travel to Hatyai City area, you can visit the Songkhla City Shrine, Street Art & Ban Nakorn Nai Musuem. These attraction is near to each other so you may plan it in one day trip.
Songkhla City Shrine is a Chinese-style shrine on Nang Ngam Road. Nang Ngam road is also the center of local food and Thai food mage by local people. Inside the shrine, you can found a kuey teow soup stall under the stage. It attract a lot of foreign tourists and local to come and have a taste of it.
Just right in front of the shrine entrance , you can try the local dessert which is the coconut ice-cream with egg yolk. It taste really good and out of my expected. And only cost 30TBH.
While searching for the local mural arts, you are suggested to apply a thick layer of the sunscreen. The weather was freaking hot all the time.
